Why the 7th Day Adventist Message?

The Lord is either teaching His church, reproving their wrongs and strengthening their faith, or He is not. This work is of The Lord or it is not. The Creator does nothing in partnership with Satan. My work. bears the stamp of the Lord or the stamp of the enemy. There is not halfway work in the matter. The Testimonies are of the spirit of the Lord, or of the spirit of the devil" Ellen G. White. "The Only Message Of Preparation For The Mark Of The Beast"

In 1986 the National Health Federation posthumously awarded Ellen Gould White The President's Award for her uncanny medical insights.

How did she know? "I was shown" was her favorite reply.

False Prophet ? You decide.

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: But Holy men of the Creator spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" 2 Peter 1: 21.

"She believed in the divine inspiration of the Bible. Of this Word she was a constant student all her life; to her it was the voice of the Creator. She exalted the Saviour as the sinner's only hope. She loved the Saviour, and did what he could to bring others to a knowledge of Him." - I. H. Evans, quoted in "Review and Herald," July 29, 1915.

At the time of her death, two large American newspapers commented as follows:"Here is a noble record, and she deserves great honor..She showed no spirited pride and she sought no 'filthy lucre'. She lived the life and did the work of a worthy prophetess." - Editorial, "The New York Independent" August 23, 1915."Mrs. White was a remarkable woman in many ways. She was deeply religious, and none who knew her intimately had any doubt as to her sincerity" - Editorial, Detroit "News Tribune," July 25, 1915.

D.M. Canright said the following about Ellen G. White, ten years before he suddenly turned against her and wrote articles attacking her as a vicious person: "As to the Christian character of Sister White, I beg leave to say that I think I know something about it. I have been acquainted with Sister White for eighteen years, more than half the history of our people. I have been in their family time and again, sometimes weeks at a time. They have been in our house and family many times. I have traveled with them almost everywhere; have been with them in private and in public, in meeting and out of meeting, and have had the very best chances to know something of the life, character, and spirit of Brother and Sister White..."I know Sister White to be an unassuming, modest, kindhearted, noble woman. These traits in her character are not simply put on and cultivated, but they spring gracefully and easily from her natural disposition. She is not self conceited, self righteous, and self important, as fanatics always are. I have frequently come in contact with fanatical persons, and I have always found them to be full of pretensions, full of pride, ready to give their opinions, boastful of their holiness etc. But I have ever found Sister White the reverse of all of this. Any one, the poorest and the humblest, can go to her freely for advise and comfort without being repulsed. She is ever looking after the needy, the destitute, and the suffering, providing for them, and pleading their cause. I have never formed and acquaintance with any person who so constantly have the fear of the Creator before them. Nothing is undertaken without earnest prayer to the Heavenly Father. She studies the word of the Lord carefully and constantly.

" I have heard Sister White speak hundreds of times, have read all her testimonies through and through, most of them many times, and I have never been able to find one immoral sentence in the whole of them, or any thing that is not strictly pure and Christian; nothing that leads away from the Bible, or from the Saviour; but there I find the most earnest appeals to obey the Father, and to love the Son, to believe the Scriptures, and to search them constantly. I have received great spiritual benefits times without number, from the testimonies. Indeed, I never read them without feeling reproved by my lack of faith in the Creator, lack of devotion, and lack of earnestness in saving souls. If I have any judgment, any spiritual discernment, I pronounce the testimonies to be of the same spirit and of the same tenor as the Scriptures.

"..One thing I have remarked, and that is, that the most bitter opponents of the visions of Sister White admit that she is a Christian. How they can now make this admission is more than I know. They try to fix it up by saying that she is deceived. They are not able to put their finger upon a single stain in all her life, nor an immoral sentence in all her writings. They have to admit that much of her writings are excellent, and whoever would live out all she says would be a good Christian, sure of heaven. This is passing strange if she is a tool of the devil, inspired by Satan, or if her writings are immoral or the vagaries of her own mind." Written by the man who later turned on Ellen White as her most fervent enemy: Dudley Marvin Canright, Review and Herald, April 26, 1877.The following statement tells of Canright at her funeral in 1915, twenty-eight years after he first declared her to be of the devil. "Even the bitterest critic-one who had left the movement and turned to write many attacks upon the work of his former associates, and especially upon the spirit of prophecy in the church-paid tribute to a noble Christian life. He came to Mrs. White's funeral . His brother...told us of D.M. Canright's emotion as they walked together past the casket, with others of the congregation, at the close of the funeral service. They came back to their pew, and stood while the great congregation was still filing past. 'Then... my brother (D.M. Canright) suggested that we go down again, to take one more look. We joined the passing throng, and again stood by the bier. My brother rested his hand upon the side of the casket, and with tears rolling down his cheeks, he said brokenly, 'There is a noble Christian woman gone!' "-W.A. 100 Years Ahead of Her Time.

I was shown...Tobacco 1864. "Tobacco is a poison of the most deceitful and malignant kind, having and exciting, then a paralyzing influence upon the nerves of the body. It is all the more dangerous because its effect upon the system are so slow, and at first scarcely perceivable. Multitudes have fallen victims to its poisonous influence. They have surely murder themselves by this slow poison"

Science Catches Up...1964: "Warning: Smoking causes lung cancer, heart disease, emphysema, and may complicate pregnancy." Surgeon General's Report.

I was shown... 1869: Electricity in the brain. "Whatever disturbs the circulation of the electric currents in the nervous system lessens the strength of the vitals powers, and the result is a deadening of the sensibilities of the mind" Ellen G. White.

Science catches up...1934: "Minute electrical charges are vital to the functioning of the brain." Dr. Charles Mayo of the Mayo Clinic.

I was Shown...1869: Heart Disease. "The eating of flesh meats has made a poor quality of blood and flesh. Your systems are in a state of inflammation, prepared to take on disease. You are liable to acute attacks of disease and sudden death because you do not possess the strength of constitution to rally and resist disease. There will come a time when the strength and health you flattered yourself you possessed will prove to be weakness."

Science catches up...1961: "A vegetarian diet can prevent 90% of our thrombo-embolic diseases (clots in veins and arteries) and 90% of our coronary occlusions." These two conditions are responsible for more deaths than all other causes combined in North America.Dr. W.A. Thomas, M.D., Writing in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

I was Shown...1905: Cancer: "People are continually eating flesh that is filled with tuberculous and cancerous germs. Tuberculosis, cancer, and other fatal diseases are thus communicated."

Science catches up...1956: "Many, if not all, malignant tumors may be cause by viruses("midget germs"). Thus, a large numbers of malignant tumors of different morphology and in different species of animals could be transmitted from one host to another by filtered extracts." Ludwick Gross, M.D., Journal of the American Medical Association.

2) The Message to Leave the Large Cities.

"Calamities, earthquakes, floods, disasters by land and by sea will increase. The Creator is looking upon the world today as He looked upon it in Noah's time. He is sending His message to people today as He did in the days of Noah." -Review and Herald, December 11, 1900.

"The spiritual darkness that covers the whole earth today, is intensified in the crowded centers of population." Review and Herald, April 7, 1910.

Satan is busily at work in our crowded cities. His work is to be seen in the confusion, the strife and discord between labor and capital, and the HYPOCRISY that has come into the churches...Step by step, the world is reaching the conditions that existed in the days of Noah. Every conceivable crime is committed...the force used to cause men to unite with confederacies and unions-binding themselves up in bundles for the burnings of the great fires of the last days-all these are the working of Satanic agencies. This round of crime and folly men call 'life' -Manuscript 139, 1903.

" 'Out of the cities' is my message...The time is near when large cities will be visited by the judgment of the Creator. In a little while, these cities will be terrible shaken. No matter how large or how strong their buildings, no matter how many safeguards against fire may have been provided, let the Creator touch these buildings and in a few minutes or a few hours they are in ruins. The unbelieving cities of our world are to be swept away by the bosom of destruction." -Testimonies, Volume 7, page 83. (1902)

To Grow Our Own Provisions.

"The time is fast coming when the controlling power of the labor unions will be very oppressive. Again and again THE LORD HAS instructed me that the people are to take their families away from the large cities into the country, WHERE THEY CAN RAISE THEIR OWN PROVISIONS;for in the future the problem of buying and selling will be a serious one... Get out of the cities into rural districts, where the houses are not crowded closely together, and where you will be free from the interference of enemies."-Letter 5, 1904.

"There are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis. If men would give more heed to the teachings of the Word of the Creator, they would find a solution." -Testimonies, Volume 9, page 13.

Why then is Ellen G. White so hated today? It is because of something else she was shown. Something she preserved in a book. A book about TYRANNY. Religious tyranny... in America.
